Department of Social and Political Processes

Brief information

The department was founded in 1995 by re-organization of and adding new fellows to the Department of Social Diagnostics headed by Natilia Panina, Doctor of Sociology. Since 2002 year Eugene Golovakha, Doctor of Philosophy, became the head of department.

The department has concentrated on problems of social well-being and mental health of population under conditions of social transformations, political culture of Ukrainian society, sociological aspects of socio-political system transformations, mechanisms and factors of political success. Findings of these researches were presented in monographs and articles published in Ukraine, Russia, USA, Germany, Netherlands, Israel, Hungary, Poland and discussed at numerous international scientific conferences.

Theoretical basis and methodology of monitoring surveys

Research projects:

Project of creation - 1997 year.The work was carried out according to the project program. The automatic saving and searching system of sociological information was worked out. And with the help of this system 25 data files of representative All-Ukrainian surveys were worked up. The presentation of data archive for scientific community was held on the International Conference towards the questions of creation the archives of sociological information in Moscow.

Project GKNT "Ukrainian society: monitoring of social changes"(chief of the project  - V. Vorona)- 2003 year.

In February 2003 year the all-national survey was realized. By results of monitoring generalized analytical tables and brochure were prepared by N.Panina as an editor. In the frame of the project the characters of public opinion, public mood and social well-being of the Ukrainian population were determined.

Project "Ukraine-countries of European community: comparative sociological survey" in the frame of scientific project "Ethnopolitical and ethnoconfessional relations in Ukraine" (chief of the project - E.Golovakha) - 2004 year.

Project "Ukrainian society on the way towards eurointegration: comparative sociological survey" in the frame of scientific project "Ethnopolitical and ethnoconfessional relations in Ukraine" (chief of the project - E.Golovakha) - 2005 year.
